Globes Arrivals: Eva Brings the Glam!
Jason Merritt/Getty Images

Eva Longoria Parker may not have been the very first star strolling the red carpet—that honor goes to a self-deprecating Ricky Gervais.

But she definitely brought the glamour—even if she did tell Ryan that she's just "a boring housewife." Perish the thought, Eva. Even without any scandalous rumors, you're still a sizzler to us.

Liveblogging the Globes Red Carpet!
Jonathan Hession/Showtime

As the stars arrive and the temperature rises, I'm liveblogging the Golden Globes red carpet.

2:30 p.m.: It's boiling on the red carpet. L.A. temps are supposed to be about 80 degrees today. No celebs just yet, but the bomb squad is doing a sweep. Dogs and scary-looking guys in camo fatigues carrying massive guns.

The Ernst & Young accountants walking by with the all-important silver briefcases.

3:00 p.m.: Bingo! Celebrities! Tudors star and nominee Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Handsome!

Lisa Edelstein from House just popped on the carpet for a nanosecond. Hair is perfectly pulled back. A black Gianfranco Ferré dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Edelstein is FUNNY! She started getting ready this morning when her hair squad arrived at 9:30. "There are more pins in my hair! I can't go through the metal detectors."

And speaking of security, Edelstein said it was intense trying to get on the red carpet today. "It was practically like a gynecological exam," she cracked.

She added, "They checked my car like I was a drug dealer or something."

3:16 p.m.: Grey's Anatomy newcomer Jessica Capshaw is wearing a fuchsia Prada minidress.

We talk Grey's and recent criticism that the show has taken a turn for the worse.

"Incredible storylines are coming about because it's been five years of total immersion," Capshaw said. "I don't think there is anything wrong with experimenting."

Globes Red Carpet Quotes: They Said That?
Tammy Kennedy/E! Network

"You’re a much bigger star than me. You present a show that gets 30 million viewers. I’m on a cable channel."
—Ricky Gervais, upon meeting Ryan Seacrest

“Last time I came to the Golden Globes, I missed the food, 'cause they take the plates away before the ceremony starts! No one told me that! So I ate bread and chocolate from the table. You have got to get in there early if you want the dinner.”
—The Office's Jenna Fischer

"It was gonna be an hour, at least, to get in, so I jumped out [of the limo], jaywalked across Wilshire, cops everywhere. Then they wouldn’t let me in ‘cause I didn’t have credentials. I actually walked around, snuck around the back way and made the interview. I am MacGyver."
—House's Jesse Spencer, on how he got to the Globes

"They had you on the cover of a magazine. You were groping some woman."
—30 Rock’s Alec Baldwin, chatting with Ryan Seacrest about recent reading material

"I have a gold urinal in my trailer and I’m the only one who can use it."
—The Office’s Creed Bratton, when asked who is the biggest diva on the sitcom's set

Introducing the Ferghamels! Fergie and Josh Duhamel Wed
Denise Truscello/WireImage.com

Josh Duhamel has officially transformed Fergie into a wife.

The 33-year-old pop star, whose real name is Stacy Ferguson, and the Transformers/Las Vegas hunk, 36, exchanged vows in a celebrity-packed ceremony Saturday in Malibu, E! News has confirmed.

The "Glamorous" singer looked appropriately, well, glamorous in Dolce & Gabbana.

Guests included the bride's fellow Black-Eyed Peas, including will.i.am, as well as Kate Hudson, Mario Lopez, Slash, Kid Rock, Stacy Keibler and brand-new parents Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell.

Attendees began arriving at the private Church Estate Vineyards near Zuma Beach around 3:30 p.m., shuttled from a parking lot near Malibu's City Hall up to the hillside mansion. The sunset ceremony began about 4 p.m. and lasted about an hour.

Police were positioned outside the grounds, on which a giant white tent was erected outside the property's showpiece 8,000-square-foot chateau. Several paparazzi-powered helicopters hovered above.

The camera-friendly pair, together since September 2004, have been planning for the big day since their engagement in December 2007, but have spent the past two weeks clearly in preparation mode. The bride was spotted shopping for lingerie, getting facials and working out, and the couple shared a joint bachelor and bachelorette party (followed by a shower) on Wednesday.

This is the first marriage for both.

John Travolta Cancels Golden Globes Appearance
Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images

John Travolta isn't ready for a golden moment just yet.

Rep Samantha Mast confirms to E! News that the actor will not be in attendance at Sunday's Golden Globes.

His appearance had been in doubt since the tragic Jan. 2 death of his 16-year-old son, Jett. The news is not entirely unexpected, considering Travolta and wife Kelly Preston held a memorial service Thursday for the young man and remain at their home in Ocala, Fla.

Travolta had been scheduled to appear in support of his latest movie, Bolt, which is nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for his duet with costar Miley Cyrus, "I Thought I Lost You."

Oscar Watch: First, the Golden Globes...
Stephen Vaughan and DC Comics; Ash Knotek/Snappers/ZUMA Press

Most-Out-in-Front Front-Runner: You don't need oddsmakers to tell you Heath Ledger is the pick to win at Sunday's Golden Globes. But if you're curious, check out Ladbrokes.com—the late Dark Knight star is listed as a prohibitive 1-12 favorite for Best Supporting Actor.

Longest of Longshots: According to Ladbrokes, Tropic Thunder cameo artist Tom Cruise has about as much chance of upsetting Ledger as The Reader does at ruining Slumdog Millionaire's happy ending. To be specific about it: That's a slim, 25-1 chance.

Reading the Writing in the Bookie Notepads? Initial reports had Cruise not attending the Globes. But wife Katie Holmes, who's finishing off her Broadway run, urged her husband to go, Cruise said on The View, and so he says he will. Lousy odds or no.

Tightest Race: Best Drama Actress, per BetUS.com, which has Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married), Meryl Streep (Doubt) and Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road) in a dogfight. Who gets the edge?

Hathaway, who, if you asked the terribly British Brits at the Guardian, could use the acceptance-speech practice.

Don't Be Surprised If... You're not surprised by the other big Globe winners. Oddsmakers expect Sean Penn (Milk) and Penélope Cruz (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) to do what they've done all award season: win.

Most Irrelevant Snubs: That The Dark Knight isn't up for Best Motion Picture, Drama and Christopher Nolan isn't up for Best Director on Sunday no longer matters. After snagging nominations this past week from Hollywood's top alphabet organizations (DGA, PGA, WGA), both are locks for top Oscar nominations.

Most Irrelevant Category: Best Motion Picture, Comedy. BetUs and Ladbrokes aren't even taking action on it. And, no, this does not bode well for In Bruges' Oscar dream, it was noted ironically.

Most Muddled Storyline: Fox News columnist Roger Friedman is calling on SAG voters to cast a Best Actress vote for Winslet for The Reader, a movie for which she's getting the Best Supporting Actress push, because he thinks she could win the Oscar for that role and not for Revolutionary Road, the movie for which she is getting the Best Actress push. Trying to clarifying things, New York Magazine declares the idea stupid.

Stepping out to mingle with Tinseltown's finest, Lindsay Lohan was spotted at the Buffalo Club in Santa Monica, California, where the Creative Artists Agency party was held on Friday night (January 9).

The "Mean Girls" starlet showed up to the swanky pre-Golden Globes shindig sans DJ lover Samantha Ronson, who currently is in Washington DC for work obligations.
Meanwhile, Lindsay has also been busy blogging away on her celebrity MySpace, talking about media head games and a song that she likes.

LiLo writes, "head games- that's what the tabloids and pap's play with everyone .... don't they? everyone plays games, but it gets to the point sometimes when you just want to know why.. well, i couldn't sleep and am watching 'Without a Trace' for a bit. Oh and yes, i love this show!!! Jack Malone is boss.. well-have a good one. sweet dreams.. all my love always, Lindsay Lo xoxo"

Kim and Kourtney Kardashian: My House Party Night

Adding a little sexiness to the Hollywood party scene, Kim Kardashian and her sister Kourtney were spotted waiting in line to enter the brand new Tinseltown hotspot My House on Friday night (January 9).

Decked out in stylish attire, the reality TV starlets stood alongside their brother Robert during a crowded opening night which brought out fellow celebrity clubgoers including Nicky Hilton and Brittny Gastineau.

And despite the fact that she's often spotted out at the clubs and big fetes, Kim recently told Vegas magazine that she's actually not the typical young party animal.

She tells: “People assume I’m a party girl, I love to dress up but you’ll never catch me at an afterparty. I don’t even drink alcohol. Hate it. Never have."

Continuing on, Kim adds, “I had two sips of margarita last night at dinner and I said ‘I’m drunk!’ I’m definitely asleep before midnight.”
